UniPad Accelerates Your Translation and Localization Projects
Sharmahd Computing has released UniPad, a text editor for Windows that supports Unicode, the international industry standard for multilingual text. UniPad can display more than 52,000 Unicode characters instantly, using its built-in Unicode font. Users can quickly find and insert the characters they need using UniPad's on-screen software keyboard, its sixty built-in keyboard layouts, and the easy-to-read character maps. Computer software developers, technical writers, and software localization engineers can greatly reduce development time by having all of the necessary characters at their fingertips.
UniPad has all of the features that are found in professional text editors. It's easy to cut, copy and paste text, to make modifications and undo them, and to search and replace strings of text. UniPad's unique built-in font covers more than 52,000 characters and symbols, including those found in languages as common as English and German, and as rare as Cherokee and Inuktitut.
UniPad features an extremely legible screen font in both fixed-width and variable-width varieties. Character maps allow you to insert characters into the document with a single mouse click. Power users will appreciate the context-menu (right click) features which include insert, insert as, copy to clipboard, append to clipboard, and other options.
The program has more than 60 built-in virtual keyboards for various languages, enabling you to type with your mouse. You can create new virtual keyboards, or simply add often-used characters to your existing keyboards.
UniPad can import and export documents for a huge selection of formats, including UTF-8, UTF-16, UTF-32, and more than fifty other codepages and formats.
Unlike other multi-language text editors that require that you have fonts installed for each language, UniPad's built-in font provides easy-to-read characters. Because UniPad is in full compliance with the latest Unicode standard, UniPad documents may be loaded into any Unicode-aware word processor, including Microsoft Word 2000/XP. UniPad's Unicode support is self-contained, allowing UniPad to run on Windows 95/98/Me platforms, even though these operating systems lack native Unicode support.
UniPad runs under Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP, costs $199.00(US), and may be purchased securely online at http://www.unipad.org/. Multi-user licenses are available. Prices include free email technical support in English or German, and free updates until the next major release. You can download a free trial version of UniPad which will work with all documents for the first minutes, and with documents of 1,000 or fewer characters afterwards.
